Island Work Trip 2002 Welcome to DIFFClub.com!

April 13-17, 2002

The CBSFC and DIFF 2002 worktrip April 13-17 at Willis Fish Camp, South Core Banks was successful with 22 members from the clubs participating. Chores accomplished included the following: 

*Exteriors of cabins 8, 20, 21, 23, 24 and the Willis generator shed were painted.
*Generators stands were built, installed and painted for cabins 8, 23 and 24.
*Wire connection run underground in conduit from cabins 8, 23 and 24 to the generator stands.
*Beds put together for cabins 8, 23 and 24.
*Shelving, mirrors and hooks installed in cabins 8, 23 and 24.
*Shelving and hooks installed in cabins 10A,19, 20, 21, and the comfort station.
*Porch screen doors hung for cabins 8, 23 and 24.
*Assisted in screening of porches for cabins 8, 23 and 24.

Although Tom Monaco secured all the groceries for both clubs Helen Wynberry and her niece Linda White did the majority of the cooking for the morning and evening meals which was a great relief for Tom and a treat for all those who ate the meals! The food was delicious! A big thanks to Helen and Linda for not only doing the majority of the cooking but doing much of the cleanup after every meal. 

Willis Fishing Camps treated the worktrip participants to a barbecue dinner on Monday April 15 which allowed many of us to get in a few hours of fishing that evening.

Fish caught during the trip were sea mullet, gray trout, black drum, blowfish and thousands of skates with a few sharks thrown in for good measure! A fish fry was prepared Tuesday night for the 12 remaining.
